We’re having a…..
We are so very excited to share this news with you all! Baby Bryde is due on February 26th, 2014, so we are 14 weeks along now!
Thanks for sharing in our excitement!!
Love from a Mom & Dad to be!
i’m a warm climate kinda gal, so when this time of year (fall, which is still quite beautiful) rolls around i long for the days of warmth. we came across some footage that we took a few months ago when the days were bright, hot and long. so my magician of a hubby put it together and made a little vid to take us back there.
one of the perks to living in kelowna is the lake and the fact that my parents have a boat (doesn’t hurt), so we get to take full advantage of the perfect weather. we had a bunch of our family up this one weekend in particular which is rare to have so many together at one time, so you have to soak up every min while at the same time soak up the rays 😉
i of course can NOT take credit for this word and i’m sure it’s probably been said or used many times before, but i came across this word today while reading my favorite magazine of all time, no questions asked…..
this magazine comes from the very dear to my heart, 2nd home land, australia. this is one of the things hands down, on my MOST MISSED from aus list. my darling sister in law, Dianne Walker did the sweetest thing. she subscribed to frankie in australia for me as a christmas gift, (because it’s way cheaper there than to have it sent here) and sends it to me every two months! what a dolly!
anyway, check it out at www.frankie.com.au if you haven’t already you will not be disappointed!
so of course it’s that time,
a time when you remember things past and look forward to things ahead. As 2010 is rapidly disappearing in the rearview mirror i naturally begin to wonder what this bright new year will hold.
2010 was good to us, finally settled in our own little corner of the world (kelowna, BC) we began to dream once again. this past year took us to many places. some of those places we once called home, but many of them new and unfamiliar to us. This was a year of adventure, challenge, growth, family & friends, and much Love.
we can’t wait to see where this ship will sail in 2011, my husband wrote something once to me while we were dating and i feel that it is very key for this next year, it went a little something like this…..
“faith is the ship of doing.
it is never docked but is fueled by hopes of distant lands;
the Holy Spirit fills it’s sails and the word of God is the very wood it is made of.
you are it’s crew and when the crew stay on board it is not easily sunk.
Jesus is it’s Captain and the hurting world it’s destination, a redeemed world it’s goal.
faith is the ship of doing and it’s your choice to sail with it or not.”
a few pictures below only begin to capture this past year for us, enjoy and much love in this new year.
i will be honest and tell you though, that there most certainly have been times when i’ve slipped up and splurged on that really cute green dress, or those impossible to ignore delightful dangly earrings, but for the most part i try. i don’t have an addiction to expensive things really, i don’t have a jewelry fetish, a get my hair done monthly fetish, or even a shoe fetish (not that there is anything wrong with any of those things, everyone’s different) but what i do have a fetish for are painted nails.
now painted nails, they make me feel pretty. i like my hands, i admire them, more than most people would i’m sure and so when i am having a down day, or feeling a little under the weather, or if i just want to look cute….the paint comes out, the nails get filed and VOILA, things are right in the world again.
okay, i put myself out there, it’s your turn….what are your secret indulgences ??
…himself up (with a little help from his lovely sidekick of course) and trotted down across the border to the US for a Bachelor’s weekend away. surrounded by 14 other guys he ventured to a lakeside resort for a weekend full of golf, sport, food and much more that will be left to the imagination ( so i’m told anyway).
i was home soaking up the rays of the lovely summer sun that shone it’s pretty face, tried a little sport of my own. i hadn’t played badminton since i was a kid and boy did i feel like one with that little racket in hand attempting to send that even tinier birdie over the net, too much fun!
…our first time apart in our first year of marriage of course, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some good ol’ fashioned ‘missing each other’ going on. it’s a strange feeling really, but of course the commonly used saying that your friends or family tell you while you’re apart from your loved one, “absence makes the heart grows fonder” was indeed proven true.
glad to have you home babe.
