Farewell 2010…

January 9th, 2011

farwell 2010

so of course it’s that time,

a time when you remember things past and look forward to things ahead. As 2010 is rapidly disappearing in the rearview mirror i naturally begin to wonder what this bright new year will hold.

2010 was good to us, finally settled in our own little corner of the world (kelowna, BC) we began to dream once again. this past year took us to many places. some of those places we once called home, but many of them new and unfamiliar to us. This was a year of adventure, challenge, growth, family & friends, and much Love.

we can’t wait to see where this ship will sail in 2011, my husband wrote something once to me while we were dating and i feel that it is very key for this next year, it went a little something like this…..

that day on the boat

“faith is the ship of doing.

it is never docked but is fueled by hopes of distant lands;

the Holy Spirit fills it’s sails and the word of God is the very wood it is made of.

you are it’s crew and when the crew stay on board it is not easily sunk.

Jesus is it’s Captain and the hurting world it’s destination, a redeemed world it’s goal.

faith is the ship of doing and it’s your choice to sail with it or not.”

~StephenjohnBryde

a few pictures below only begin to capture this past year for us, enjoy and much love in this new year.

1st Year Anniversary Adventure

30 lbs of coffee

Originally,

I wrote this blog about taste, coffee and wine etc. Anyway it was really bad writing so it had to die. What I was trying to say was that i was having trouble tasting the coffee i had been roasting as well as any kind of wine. i am happy to say that i have now fixed the problem i was having roasting the beans and i have hurdled whatever obstacle was in my way in regards to tasting wine and things are GREAT now!

July 7th, 1983.

August 5th, 2010

A fine day in history, the day of my birth.

that’s right, i’m 27 and proud.

Amanda's Garden Party*

i have come to find that growing older is grand.

i feel like my perspective on life has changed and developed so much these past few years that being older has a new appeal to it.

you see things through new eyes as you add another year to your life.

i understand and respect my parents more than ever.
i listen differently, more intently, to people and those around me than i ever did before.
i see god in a new light and am more in love with him than years past.
i am learning to love in a deeper way.

so many new things how can you not embrace age?

just over a week ago we had a party to celebrate of course, another thing that gets better, parties! we decided to have a Garden Party. my cousin Cassandra Monster (yes that’s really her last name =) myself and of course my mother, threw some fabulous yummies, decorations, and well thought out details together and a grand party it was!

thank you all who came, helped and celebrated, it was a great day!

*the pictures below will give you a bit of an idea of the fun we had! *

My Greatest Spill Ever

June 17th, 2010

For those who know me…

… they know that I’m a messy person, i manage to spill unleast one thing a day. I almost spill things more that i spell things wrong, it’s debatable. Anyway so the other day i was making a coffee in my Aeropress (thanks Amanda Bryde (my sister) ) and it is better to make it upside down, then put the lid on it & then flipped it over to press it. Usually it stops the flow and i have to push down the seringe like pump thingy for the coffee to come out. Well this time i guess it wasn’t on properly & the entire water mixed with coffee came out all at once straight on our beautiful counter top !! Luckily Amanda (my wife) wasn’t home so i could clean it up before she killed me !! it was a great opportunity for some photo’s i thought, & time to revel in my many flaws.
